You get the IGNOU M.Ed Prospectus 2015 from the Registrar (SR&E), IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi-110068 and from Regional Centres, Study Centres, and IGNOU ARMY, NAVY, AIR FORCE AND ASSAM RIFLES recognised Regional Centres.Student Handbook and Prospectus is also available on university’s official website : www.ignou.ac.in.The candidates downloading the form from website are required to send a Demand Draft of Rs.1,050/- (Rupees one thousand fifty only) drawn in favour of IGNOU payable at New Delhi or you can submit the application form on counter at your nearest IGNOU regional centre.Then you need to pay only Rs.1000/- as fee (Including Registration Fee).

About Master of Education (M.Ed) programme :
According to IGNOU,”The M.Ed. Programme is designed and developed jointly by the erstwhile Distance Education Council (DEC), Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) and National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE).It is a two- year programme offered through open and distance learning (ODL) system.It is an innovative programme, utilizing self-learning materials (SLMs) and information and communication technologies (ICTs) along with an interactive personal contact programme component. To effectively impart instruction, the programme follows the multimedia approach, viz., print materials, audio-video components, teleconferencing, Interactive Radio Counselling (IRC), assignments, counselling sessions, personal guidance for research, workshops,individual and group activities, etc.”
Objective of Programme :
The main objective of this programme is to prepare teacher educators and educational administrators/managers to develop a global as well as a national vision for education in the modern concept of the 21st century, acquainting them with the state-of-the-art technology applicable in the practice of education. Further, it seeks to prepare educational experts capable of generating knowledge by the application of scientific method of inquiry or investigation, and to develop a critical mind which can sense gaps in knowledge and find solutions to problems relating to the theory and practice of education.It further seeks to widen the horizon of teachers/ educational administrators and to enable them to obtain an international perspective in education.The programme consists of 60 credits including research dissertation.
Duration of programme : Any candidate who is pursuing this programme needs to complete the course with the minimum duration of two years. However,if not completed in minimum time,the course can be completed in the maximum allowed period of four years.
Medium of Instruction : The university is providing the education for this programme in English only. However,In due course of time, the programme may be available in Hindi also. However, you can write your answers in the term-end examination and assignments in Hindi.
