IGNOU Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing Admission 2018, IGNOU OPENNET VII Application Form, IGNOU Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing Prospectus 2018, IGNOU BSCN(PB) Admission January 2018:

Every Year the Indira Gandhi National Open University conducts the entrance test for students to apply for IGNOU Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing Admission for January session. The exam is usually conducted every year in the month of August or September. The admit cards / hall Tickets for the Post Basic BSc. Nursing entrance exam will be provided by university at least ten days before the date of examination. The entrance exam is conducted all over India through the university study centres.

The IGNOU BSCN(PB) programme offered by university comes under the School of Health Sciences (SOH). Most of the students in India and abroad who want to pursue distance learning prefers the IGNOU Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing admission because of the flexibility it offers for distance learning students. The course has been divided into two major components i.e. theory and practicals. The student has to complete total 22 courses; 11 theory and 11 practical to obtain the degree certificate.

So, this year again the university is going to conduct the entrance test i.e. IGNOU OPENNET-VII on 24th September 2017 for admissions to January 2018 sessionRecently, the university has published the notification to invite applications from all the interested and eligible candidates who wish to apply for admission. The university is offering this programme all over the country through the network of its study centres. To get admission to IGNOU B.Sc.N(PB), the students should match the required eligibility and must qualify the IGNOU OPENNET VII Entrance Test.

IGNOU Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing Admission Procedure:

To apply for admission to Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing programme, the candidate has to appear in the OPENNET Entrance test for which he/she has to fill up the prescribed application form. The students can apply for admission in two ways :

1) By obtaining form from IGNOU Regional Centre:

The IGNOU OPENNET VII application form along with Student Handbook and Prospectus can be obtained from IGNOU Regional Centre which will be having programme study centre for Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing by paying the fee of Rs.1000 in cash at respective Sales Counters.

The applicants can also request the prospectus from Director, (SSC), IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi, 110068  or any other IGNOU Regional Centre by sending Demand Draft/IPO of Rs.1050/- in favour of IGNOU payable at  New Delhi / City of Concerned Regional Centre.

It is advised to mention you Name and Address at back of demand draft/ IPO to avoid any issues. Once the applicant got the prospectus, he / she should read it thoroughly before filling up application form to know about the programme structure completely.

The OPENNET Application form is available at the end of prospectus which can be cut from the prospectus. The applicant should fill up the prescribed application form completely in all respects and submit it to the concerned Regional Director, IGNOU Regional Centre on or before 11th August 2017 by registered post/speed post.

2) By downloading Application form from IGNOU official website :

The applicants can also download the soft copy of application form and prospectus from university official website at www.ignou.ac.in. In this case, the students has to send the filled in application form along with DD/ IP of Rs.1050/- in favour of IGNOU payable at City of Regional centre by Regitered / Speed post to the regional centre concerned.

After receiving the application form and fees the university will send the printed copy of prospectus to these applicants. For the student’s convenience, we provided the direct links below to download the application form and prospectus:

Important Notes:

  • Please submit the IGNOU OPENNET VII entrance form to only those Regional Centres where there is programme study centre for Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing. Otherwise, the admission will not be considered if university come to know this at any stage.
  • The candidates who are applying for admission in Jan 2018 session Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing through (OPENNET-VII) entrance exam need not to attach any certificate or enclosure with entrance examination form.

Important Instructions and Dates:

  • The filled-in application form for IGNOU Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing Admission must reach the concerned IGNOU Regional Centre on or before 11th August 2017.
  • Date of OPENNET-VII Entrance Examination: 24th September 2017
  • Application form received after the due date will not be accepted.
  • Please retain photo copy of the filled application form for future reference.

About programme :

This programme has been offered by university for for in-service diploma holder Nurses. It is approved by the Indian Nursing Council (INC). Admissions to BSCN(PB) is conducted purely on the basis of qualification in entrance test. Those candidates who succeeds in obtaining the minimum marks required to qualify the IGNOU Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing entrance exam will be eligible to take admission to this programme offered by this distance learning university.

IGNOU Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing Admission Eligibility:

According to IGNOU,“The Eligibility for Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing programme is mentioned below :

In-service Nurses, that is Registered Nurses and Registered Midwives (RNRM) having 10+2 with three years, Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) with minimum of two years experience in the profession. (For male nurses who have not done midwifery in the GNM programme should have a certificate in any of the nursing courses of 6-9 months, duration prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council in lieu of midwifery).
In-service Nurses (RNRM) having 10th class (Matriculation) or its equivalent with three year, Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) with minimum of five years experience in the profession. (For male nurses who have not done midwifery in the GNM programme should have a certificate in any of the nursing courses of 6-9 month, duration prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council in lieu of midwifery).

Reservation policy as per GOI.”

Programme Duration & Age Requirement:

The students who take admission to IGNOU Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing programme should complete it in the minimum duration of 3 years but the university provides flexibility to the students complete it in maximum duration of 5 years. Also, the university has not set up any maximum age criteria for admission to this programme.
